Note to Parents

                                      31st August 2017

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the start of a new school year. I hope you all enjoyed the summer break. My aim for this year is to not only teach your son the 3rd class curriculum but to inspire and support him to love learning, be curious and question, realise his full potential, utilise his strengths and grow in confidence. Above all I want your son to be happy and enjoy coming to school.
Below is some information which you might find useful:

Homework: Homework will be given every day (except on Fridays and when rewards are given such as student of the week). It should usually take 30 minutes for the boys to complete. Homework notebooks should be signed by parents every night and will be checked by me in the morning. If your son cannot complete his homework due to illness/family engagement please write a brief explanation in his homework journal and he should catch up the following night. If he goes over 30 minutes of uninterrupted work please stop him and write a note in his journal to let me know. If he is under the allotted time your son should do some extra reading or revision work.

Contact with me: I believe that teachers and parents need to work and communicate with each other on a regular basis to best meet the needs of the child. If there is any issue big or small, please encourage your child to talk to me about it or else you can contact me directly. Please feel free to contact me during the year via the homework journal or my email address at or by ringing the school secretary on (01) 2856193. We can also organise an appointment to meet if needed.

I am looking forward to teaching your son and staying in touch with you throughout the year.

Mise le meas,

Carole Crowley
3rd class teacher
